Q. How long have you been filming Jesszilla?

A. We’ve been filming since 2015. The short film premiered in 2016 and we’ve continued filming on and off throughout the years since then. We wrapped principal photography in 2022.

Q. Where can I watch jesszilla?

A. With our 2023 festival run concluded, reach out if you’re a film festival and would like a screener to see if JessZilla is a good fit for your festival. We are currently exploring distribution opportunities and hope to have it available online soon!

Q. Why do you want to make this film?

A. This film isn’t just about what it takes to make a champion. It’s a coming of age story unlike one we’ve ever seen. By filming Jesselyn and her father over the years, we’re watching their relationship grow as much as we’re watching her develop as a talented young boxer. Ultimately it was Jesselyn who wanted to tell this story. After her diagnosis she was the one who wanted to press forward. This film is a testament to her strength and bravery.
